Rutherford | Restoration work on West Newell
At the West Newell project we were contracted to a variety of projects to enhance the restoration of the house. To begin with we removed of all of the existing vinyl siding, aluminum and soffits on the home and garage. This was in preparation for the repainting of the existing shingle underneath.
We also removed the back chimney and the crew framed in the roof around it … then redid the roof and installed a new ice shield and flashing where necessary. A new front chimney was built with 4-8 courses on the chimney top to give it a decorative look.
In addition, we remodeled the front wrap-around porch, including demolition of the existing structure and rebuilding of the porch deck, railing, columns, front step risers and treads. On the porch deck we used mahogany tongue and groove decking with decorative columns and railings to enhance the look of the restoration. Don't miss the chimney! Take a look in our project gallery.
